Conor Hartman

Director for Strategy and Development

As Director for Strategy and Development at CIFA, Conor Hartman is working extensively in Nigeria, where CIFA has supported the creation of a new Nigeria Interfaith Action Association (NIFAA), which serves as an umbrella organization for Nigeria’s religious institutions (congregational leaders) and as a coordinating platform for the religious sector, government and international development community. With financial support from the Nigerian Ministry of Health, the Nigeria IFAA is working in full partnership with the Government to address critical development challenges, beginning with malaria.

In 2007-2008, Mr. Hartman was a Scott Family Fellow and served as Special Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs in Liberia. He played a central role in drafting the Governance and Peacebuilding components of the national Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS), in establishing the national peacebuilding management plan, and in spearheading the Ministry reform strategy.

Previously, Mr. Hartman has served as Deputy Chair of Poverty Alleviation at the Clinton Global Initiative, as Special Assistant to the Vice President of the Center for Global Development, and in several positions at the Carter Center with assignments in South Sudan and Kenya.
