Faiths United for Health

About FUH

Perhaps the faith sector’s greatest asset is its capacity to deliver services on the ground wherever they are most needed. With this focus, CIFA launched the Faiths United for Health Campaign that mobilizes and trains faith leaders across Africa in support of government-led programs to eliminate disease and poverty. The Campaign was first launched in Nigeria on December 10, 2009, through the Nigerian Inter-Faith Action Association (NIFAA) to mobilize Nigeria’s faith leaders in support of the goals of the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) and Roll Back Malaria - to cut the malaria burden in Nigeria by half by the year 2010 (relative to 2000). Nigeria bears one quarter of the malaria burden in sub-Saharan Africa, with the disease affecting all Nigerians, irrespective of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.
